From download to first video
Get the installer from the client's official project page, not from a download portal that wraps it in extras.
Run it, then open the client and add the subscription from the bot by pasting the link.
Choose a server from the list and press connect. Windows or macOS may ask for permission to add a network configuration; that is how a tunnel works.
Open your browser, load something you watch every day, and see whether it plays as before.
Close the client when you do not need the route, since it runs in the background otherwise.
Where a computer differs from a TV or a phone
A laptop has a proper keyboard, so the long link is no problem. That makes it a good place to test a server before you set up the others. If a server stalls video here, it will stall elsewhere, and the cause is more likely the route than the device.
Sleep is the one thing to watch. After a laptop wakes up, glance at the client and reconnect if it dropped, before you start a video call or a long film.
Choosing a server
The site lists five server places: Manchester, Madrid, Singapore, Abu Dhabi and Toronto. No server sits in India, so an Indian address is not on offer, and services restricted to users inside India cannot be opened through us from abroad. We have no speed measurements to publish, so there is no ranking to follow; try one for a few minutes, then another, and keep the one that suits your connection.
Downloading safely and picking free software
Search results for this topic are packed with "free download" pages that bundle adverts and toolbars with the installer. A VPN on a computer sees all your traffic, so the source of the file matters more than the logo on it. Look for the developer's own page, read what the installer asks for, and skip anything that wants an account before it does anything.
Are these pointers neutral? Not quite, because this site belongs to the service, which is why they are tests you can run yourself instead of our verdict. Editors checked the page against the service facts before it went up, and an AI model helped write it.
What stays the same
Encryption between your computer and the server protects you on cafe and hotel networks, but your home line is still your home line. A VPN does not add bandwidth, and a slow router or a crowded Wi-Fi channel will still hurt video. Laws and each service's terms differ by country and change, and you answer for following both. Nothing here promises access to a streaming catalogue or a sports broadcast.
