Getting a key and a client
Get a link from the bot, install a client from the App Store, paste the link, allow the VPN configuration iOS asks for and tap connect. It takes a few minutes and needs no account.
The rest of the page covers the prompt iOS shows, how to pick a server, and what to try when the client will not connect.
The setup in order
Message the Telegram bot to request a key. A personal VLESS subscription link arrives in about a minute, and no email or password is needed.
Copy the link. Keep it private: whoever holds it can use the subscription.
Install a client from the App Store. Happ has an iPhone listing; search for it by name and check the publisher.
In the client, look for the import-from-clipboard entry for subscriptions, paste the link and wait for the server list to load.
Tap a server and connect. iOS shows a prompt asking to add a VPN configuration; allow it and confirm with your passcode or Face ID.
Once the tunnel is up, the status bar shows a VPN mark.
What the permission prompt means
The first time a client connects, iOS asks to add a VPN configuration. This is the system, not the app, asking for your consent, and it can show a passcode request. You can see and remove the entry later in Settings, under General, then VPN and device management, or in the client itself.
If you tap "Don't allow" by mistake, nothing is broken. Disconnect, connect again, and the prompt returns.
Choosing a server
The list has five places: Manchester, Madrid, Singapore, Abu Dhabi and Toronto. There is no server in India, so you cannot get an Indian address from any of them. We publish no speed table, so the order in the list says nothing about speed. Try one for a few minutes with a normal task, and change it if pages hang.
If the client shows no connection
Go down this list one step at a time. First check that the phone has working internet without the tunnel, because a dead Wi-Fi will fail the same way. Then update the subscription inside the client, since the server list may not have loaded. Switch to another server. If the client offers a choice of connection mode, try the other one. Last, remove the subscription and paste the link again.
A link that was copied with a trailing space, or cut off in a chat app, will load nothing. Request it again from the bot if the paste looks short.
Settings worth a look afterwards
- Whether the client reconnects by itself after the phone sleeps.
- Which apps and sites go through the tunnel, if the client has such a switch.
- Low Power Mode, which can pause background connections on some phones.
- The Wi-Fi signal where you sit, which often explains stalls better than the server does.
Which key to use for setup on more than one device
One link works on the iPhone, an iPad and a laptop, since the subscription has no device limit. Paste the same link into each client.
Sharing the link with other people means sharing the subscription itself, so think about whom you hand it to.
About these steps
Treat the order above as a starting point you can verify yourself in a minute on your own phone, since the page comes from the seller of the key it describes. What an iPhone may do on a school or work network is set by whoever manages it, and the terms of each service you open stay yours to follow.
Questions and answers
Programme
Does the iPhone have to be jailbroken first?
No. The client is a normal App Store app and the system's own prompt does the permission.
How long does the key last?
A trial key runs for 10 days. Paid periods are bought in the bot and are not renewed automatically.
The status bar badge is missing. Is it connected?
Open the client and look at its own status. If it says disconnected, connect again and accept the iOS prompt.
Can I keep the tunnel on all the time?
Yes, traffic is unlimited, but an always-on connection uses some power. Turn it off whenever you are not using it.
Where do I find the link again?
Go back to the Telegram bot and request the link again.
Why does the client ask for a VPN configuration and not for my location?
A tunnel needs the system's VPN permission to carry traffic and nothing more. A client asking for contacts or messages is not behaving like a tunnel.
